Anna Ory

Anna is a well respected, positive, outcome orientated senior physiotherapist.

While pretty much bed ridden from an injury throughout her second pregnancy in 2012- completed her studies for the Certificate of Business Ownership and transformed her dreams to reality with the opening of the A+Physio in Dunedin. The A+ Physio Team is like a family, appreciating everyone’s individual strengths, brainstorming together and caring for each other.

Anna holds registration as a physiotherapist in New Zealand, Victoria-Australia and Hungary-European Union.
She is member of Physiotherapy New Zealand.

She graduated in 2002 as a Physiotherapist at the University of Pecs, Hungary and gained Postgraduate Certificate in Health Sciences in Pain Management through the University of Otago.
She also gained a Diploma as a Sport Instructor in gymnastics. Studied Anatomy, Human Biology, Physiology, Biochemistry and Biophysics at the Semmelweis University- Faculty of Medicine.

Anna’s clinical work experience of over 19 years in New Zealand includes community pain management program lead, private practice musculoskeletal and neurological physiotherapy, pool and gym rehabilitation
She also has a wide range of experience from Hungary including the rehabilitation of children with special needs; acute trauma with septic complications and neurological, musculoskeletal rehabilitation.

Anna is passionate about her profession, enjoys working with all age groups (had patients from a day old to 107!) and loves challenges!
Coming from a family of 8 siblings she became a patient, understanding and passionate person.

She is a loving mother of their energetic kids, who certainly keep their parents on their toes outside of working hours.

Anna believes, that a key to success is to be able to focus on positive goals, not to give up the hope and keep searching for solutions. She listens to her clients and always looks at the full picture and would never look at any joints/body parts in isolation. She also knows, that not one person “knows it all”. She is working very closely with amazing health and fitness related professionals within the wider Dunedin area and consulting other professionals nationally and internationally when necessary.

With her unique approach Anna managed to help hundreds of clients who just about lost hope that they can get better and feels very fortunate to be able be part of magical stories weeks after weeks.

Anna is now a key worker for ACC’s Pain Management and Training for Independence Services, that allows her to coordinate multidisciplinary input for clients with complex needs and for those who suffer from Chronic Pain following an injury.
