Pelvic Health Physiotherapy

Helping you regain strength, comfort, and confidence in your body

Pelvic health concerns are extremely common for women and can also affect men, yet many people feel unsure where to seek help or believe their symptoms are simply something they have to live with.

If you are experiencing bladder leakage, pelvic pain, discomfort during pregnancy, issues following surgery, or difficulty returning to exercise after having a baby, pelvic health physiotherapy can help.

At A+ Physio, our pelvic health service provides professional, confidential support to help you restore strength, improve function, and feel confident in your body again.

What is pelvic health physiotherapy?

Pelvic health physiotherapy focuses on the muscles, ligaments, and connective tissues that support the bladder, bowel, and reproductive organs. When these structures are not working well, they can contribute to a wide range of symptoms.

Many people seek pelvic physiotherapy for help with:

  • Pelvic girdle pain during pregnancy
  • Preparation for birth and post-natal recovery
  • Birth injuries
  • Returning to exercise during or after pregnancy
  • Abdominal muscle separation, also known as diastasis recti
  • Chronic pelvic pain
  • Pelvic organ prolapse
  • Pelvic floor weakness or dysfunction
  • Bladder leakage or urgency
  • Bowel problems or constipation
  • Pain during intimacy
  • Recovery after gynaecological surgery
  • Support before or after hysterectomy
  • Endometriosis-related pain

How pelvic physiotherapy can help

Treatment may include:

  • Pelvic floor assessment and rehabilitation
  • Muscle awareness and strengthening
  • Breathing and core coordination training
  • Manual therapy and trigger point release
  • Education and lifestyle strategies
  • Guidance for safe return to exercise

Our goal is not only to address your current symptoms, but also to give you the tools and knowledge to prevent future issues and stay active long-term.

Pelvic health concerns are highly treatable, and many people experience significant improvement once they receive the right guidance and support.

When should you seek pelvic physiotherapy?

If you notice symptoms such as leakage, pelvic pressure, pain, or difficulty returning to activity, it is worth having an assessment. Early guidance can often prevent problems from becoming long-term.

Pelvic physiotherapy provides a safe, professional space to discuss concerns that many people feel uncomfortable raising elsewhere.
